Now is the time to adjust the level of the recording. Nearly all audio software will allow you to adjust the peak volume of the file accurately. Wave Corrector does it slightly differently, as it allows you to adjust the volume balance of the file. See the Channel Balance on the Waveform menu. Choose 'Auto Balance'

Once the channels are balanced then you can maximise the volume for the whole file. This sets the volume at a high level (so that it roughly matches the level of bought CDs) without causing any overload clipping.

Choose 'Normalise' from the Waveform menu and choose a figure of -1 or 0dB.
By now the recording you have should be in pretty good shape and pretty much ready to record
